Pathfinder and the 'Blue Hen Chick' of the
447th Bomb Group out of Rattlesden, England,
lead the High Group on mission # 248 to the
marshalling-yards at Plauen, Germany, April
8th, 1945. The pathfinder has just released
the smoke-target-marker, along with the first
of its bombs, and 'Blue Hen Chick' is about
to release. Painting is based on photos taken
during the bomb-run by John Kirkwood,
navigator of 'Blue Hen Chick'.
